"I have not seen anything like the Fire from which its escapee sleeps, nor anything like Paradise for which its seeker sleeps." It was recorded by Ibn al-Mubārak in "al-Zuhd" (no. 27), al-Tirmidhī (2/99), Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (8/178) and in "Ṣifat al-Jannah" (6/1), and al-Qaḍāʿī in "Musnad al-Shihāb" (67/3), and al-Salafī in "Muʿjam al-Safar" (153/2) from Yaḥyá ibn ʿUbayd Allāh al-Madīnī from his father from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. Abū Nuʿaym said: "It was not narrated from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Wahb except by his son Yaḥyá." I say: He is abandoned, and his father is unknown. Al-Tirmidhī said: "This ḥadīth is only known from the narration of Yaḥyá ibn ʿUbayd Allāh, and he is weak according to most of the scholars of ḥadīth." I say: Ibn al-Mubārak also recorded it (28) through the route of Ismāʿīl ibn Muslim from al-Ḥasan who said: and he mentioned it as a statement attributed to him, and this is more likely. Then I found two supporting narrations for the ḥadīth that strengthen it. The first: from ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb, raised to the Prophet.
