- "Whoever makes the Hereafter his concern, Allāh will place richness in his heart, gather his affairs, and the world will come to him submissively. And whoever makes the world his concern, Allāh will place poverty between his eyes, scatter his affairs, and he will receive nothing of the world except what has been decreed for him." It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (2/76) from al-Rabīʿ ibn Ṣubayḥ from Yazīd ibn Abān, who is al-Raqāshī, from Anas in a marfūʿ form. Al-Tirmidhī remained silent about it, and it is a weak isnād, but it is considered good in follow-ups. Al-Mundhirī said (4/82): "And al-Tirmidhī narrated it from Yazīd al-Raqāshī from him, and he has been deemed reliable and there is no harm in using him in follow-ups." I say: It has also been reported in a more complete wording: "Whoever makes the world his concern, and it is his goal and intention, Allāh will place poverty between his eyes, scatter his possessions, and he will receive nothing from it except what has been written for him. And whoever makes the Hereafter his concern, and it is his goal and intention, Allāh will place richness in his heart, gather his possessions, and the world will come to him in humility." Al-Mundhirī said (3/9): "It was narrated by al-Bazzār and al-Ṭabarānī, and this wording is his, and Ibn Ḥibbān in his Ṣaḥīḥ from Anas." I say: And perhaps these or some of them, especially Ibn Ḥibbān, narrated it through a route other than the previous route of al-Raqāshī. And Allāh knows best. It was also recorded by Ibn ʿAdī in "al-Kāmil" (Q 8/2 and 129/1) from the route of Ismāʿīl ibn Muslim from al-Ḥasan and Qatādah, and from the route of Dāwūd ibn Muḥbir narrated by Hammām from Qatādah, both from Anas with it. Then I saw it in "Zawāʾid al-Bazzār" (p. 322) from
