- "If the world were worth as much as a mosquito's wing to Allāh, He would not give a disbeliever a sip of water from it." Narrated by al-Tirmidhī (2/52), al-ʿUqaylī in "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ" (250), and Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (3/3/253) from ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Sulaymān from Abū Ḥāzim from Sahl ibn Saʿd who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) [said] and he mentioned it. Al-Tirmidhī said: "This is a ṣaḥīḥ gharīb ḥadīth from this perspective." This is what he said, and it is from his leniency, for al-ʿUqaylī said: "ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Sulaymān, the brother of Fulayḥ, Ibn Maʿīn said: He is nothing, and he was followed by Zakarīyā ibn Manẓūr who is lesser than him." Ibn ʿAdī said in "al-Kāmil" (249/1) after narrating it from the first route: "And he is among those whose ḥadīth is written." I say: Both are weak as al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb." It was also narrated by al-Ḥākim (4/306) from the other route and he said:
