an error narrated by al-Layth ibn Saʿd and ʿAbdah ibn Sulaymān from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah from Mūsá ibn ʿUqbah from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr al-Awdī from Ibn Masʿūd from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). and this is the correct version. I said to Abū Zurʿah: "From whom is the pardon?" He said: "From ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muṣʿab." I said: "What is the status of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muṣʿab?" He said: "An elder." I said: "And through his route, al-Baghawī reported it in 'The ḥadīth of Muṣʿab ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muṣʿab al-Zubayrī' (p. 138/2) saying: Muṣʿab narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to me from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah ... with it." Similarly, al-Ṭabarānī reported it in 'al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ' (1/137/1) through another route from Muṣʿab with it. and he said: "No one narrated it from Hishām except al-Zubayrī, and his son was unique in narrating it." I said: "The son is truthful, and the father is weak; Ibn Maʿīn deemed him weak." and al-Haythamī said after mentioning it in 'al-Majmaʿ' (4/75): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ' and Abū Yaʿlá, and in it is ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muṣʿab al-Zubayrī, and he is weak." As for al-Manāwī's statement in 'Fayḍ al-Qadīr': "Al-Haythamī said after attributing it to Abū Yaʿlá: in it is ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muṣʿab al-Zubayrī, weak, and he said after attributing it to al-Ṭabarānī: its men are the men of the ṣaḥīḥ." and al-ʿAlāʾī said: "This chain is stronger than the first." it is an error whether from al-Manāwī or from al-Haythamī himself, for you know that the chain of al-Ṭabarānī also includes the weak al-Zubayrī. As for al-ʿAlāʾī's statement, I do not know its basis. but the ḥadīth has several supporting evidences that strengthen it
