as in "Taqrīb," and the rest of its narrators are trustworthy, narrators of Muslim, and it was followed up on, as Aḥmad extracted it (5/369): Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us from Abū Bishr from ʿAbd Allāh (in the original it is ʿUbayd Allāh, which is a typographical error) ibn Shaqīq from a man among the Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) in a marfūʿ form with the wording: "Shall I not guide you." The rest is the same without the addition. And this is a sound chain according to the criteria of Muslim, and the anonymity of the Companion does not harm, especially since he was named in the first narration. I said: This path clarifies that the addition is objectionable due to the weak narrator's singularity in it and its lack of corroboration.

- "Answer for me, O Allāh, support him with the Holy Spirit." It was extracted by Muslim (7/162-163), Abū Dāwūd (2/316), al-Ṭayālisī (p. 304, no. 2309), and Aḥmad (2/269 and 5/222) from al-Zuhrī from Saʿīd from Abū Hurayrah, "that ʿUmar passed by Ḥassān while he was reciting poetry in the mosque, and he glanced at him, so [Ḥassān] said: I used to recite while there was someone better than you in it, then he turned to Abū Hurayrah and said: I implore you by Allāh, did you hear the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: (and he mentioned it?) He said: By Allāh, yes." Aḥmad added in a narration: "ʿUmar left, knowing that he meant the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)." And its chain is authentic. And al-Zuhrī has another chain for it with the wording: "O Ḥassān, answer..." and it will appear under number (1954). And it has a witness, one from ʿĀʾishah, and it will appear (1180). And the other from al-Barāʾ, which has already been mentioned (801).
