"O Surāqah, shall I inform you?..." Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of Muslim," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. This is what they both said, but it is defective and disconnected, as clarified by the trustworthy ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yazīd al-Muqriʾ who said: Mūsá ibn ʿAlī narrated to us, saying: I heard my father say: It reached me from Surāqah ibn Mālik. It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/175). This indicates that ʿAlī ibn Rabāḥ did not hear it from Surāqah, but rather took it from an unknown narrator. Thus, the isnād becomes weak. Yes, this was narrated by ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yazīd and Ibn al-Mubārak also from Mūsá ibn ʿAlī from his father from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr in a marfūʿ form with the wording: "The people of the Fire..." And it will be mentioned, Allāh willing (1741). In summary, it is weak and disconnected from Surāqah and connected and authentic from Ibn ʿUmar as will be explained there.

- "Shall I inform you about the people of Paradise? The weak and oppressed. Shall I inform you about the people of the Fire? Every harsh, arrogant person." It was recorded by al-Ṭayālisī (p. 332, no. 2551) and Aḥmad (2/508) from al-Barāʾ ibn Yazīd who said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Shaqīq al-ʿAqīlī narrated to us from Abū Hurayrah in a marfūʿ form. And it includes their saying, "They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allāh," after the question in both instances, and it added at the end: "They are those who do not feel pain in their heads." Then it was recorded by Aḥmad (2/369) and al-Bazzār (p. 226 - his additions) from al-Barāʾ ibn ʿAbd from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Shaqīq without the addition, and perhaps this addition is inserted by some narrators as an explanation. And this al-Barāʾ is the son of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yazīd, attributed in the first narration to his grandfather, and he is weak
