"a ḥadīth that is ḥasan gharīb." As for al-Ḥākim, he remained silent about it, which was appropriate because Zuhayr has some weakness. The ḥāfiẓ said, "The narration of the people of al-Shām from him is not reliable, which caused his weakness. Al-Bukhārī said, quoting Aḥmad: It is as if Zuhayr, from whom the people of al-Shām narrate, is another person." Abū Ḥātim said, "He narrated in al-Shām from his memory, which led to many mistakes." However, there is another chain of transmission, narrated by Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad al-Anṣārī from Saʿīd ibn Yasār from Abū Hurayrah with it. It was recorded by Ibn ʿAsākir in "al-Majlis al-Thālith wa-al-Khamsīn min al-Amālī" (folio 2/2) and by al-Ḥākim, who said, "It is authentic, if Allāh wills." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him, which is surprising, for he mentioned him in his book "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ," meaning this Ibrāhīm, and said, "He has rejected narrations." I said: This is the statement of Ibn ʿAdī about him as in "al-Lisān" by Ibn Ḥajar, and he said, "He mentioned three ḥadīths of his, then said: He has others, and his ḥadīths are acceptable and bear consideration." I said: He is weak, but not severely so, and can be used for supporting evidence, thus the ḥadīth with it is ḥasan. And Allāh knows best. As for what Ibn ʿAsākir narrated from the path of Yaḥyá ibn Ḥamzah al-Dimashqī from al-Ḥakam ibn ʿAbd Allāh from al-Qāsim from ʿĀʾishah as marfūʿ with it. It is not suitable as supporting evidence due to the severe weakness of this Ḥakam, who is al-Aylī. Aḥmad said: All his ḥadīths are fabricated
" حديث حسن غريب ". وأما الحاكم فسكت عنه فأحسن لأن زهيرًا هذا فيه ضعف، قال الحافظ " رواية أهل الشام عنه غير مستقيمة فضعف بسببها، قال البخاري عن أحمد: كأن زهير الذي يروي عنه الشاميون آخر. وقال أبو حاتم: حدث بالشام من حفظه، فكثر غلطه ". لكن له طريق أخرى، يرويه إبراهيم بن محمد الأنصاري عن سعيد بن يسار عن أبي هريرة به. أخرجه ابن عساكر في " المجلس الثالث والخمسين من الأمالي " (ق ٢ / ٢) والحاكم وقال: " صحيح إن شاء الله تعالى ". ووافقه الذهبي وهذا عجب، فقد أورده في كتابه " الضعفاء " أعني إبراهيم هذا، وقال: " له مناكير ". قلت: وهذه عبارة ابن عدي فيه كما في " اللسان " لابن حجر، وقال: " وساق له ثلاثة أحاديث، ثم قال: وله غير ذلك، وأحاديثه صالحة محتملة ". قلت: فهو ضعيف لكنه ليس شديد الضعف فيصلح للاستشهاد به فالحديث به حسن. والله أعلم. وأما ما رواه ابن عساكر من طريق يحيى بن حمزة الدمشقي عن الحكم بن عبد الله عن القاسم عن عائشة مرفوعا به. فإنه لا يصلح شاهدا لشدة ضعف الحكم هذا، وهو الأيلي، قال أحمد: أحاديثه كلها موضوعة.
