and this is the correct view because ʿAbbād is weak due to his changes and his tadlīs, and the details of this have been previously mentioned in a way you will not find elsewhere under ḥadīth (633). However, this ḥadīth of his has a corroborating narration from the words of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and it has been mentioned under number (622).

- "Adam and Mūsá argued, and Adam won the argument against Mūsá." It was recorded by al-Khaṭīb in "Tārīkh Baghdād" (4/349) from Abū Bakr Aḥmad ibn al-Qāsim al-Anmāṭī, known as (Bulbul): ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sawār Abū al-Sawār narrated to us, Ḥammād ibn Salamah informed us from Ḥumayd from al-Ḥasan from Anas from Jundub or someone else from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: and he mentioned it. Al-Khaṭīb included it in the biography of this al-Anmāṭī without mentioning any criticism or praise, but it appears from the following extraction by al-Haythamī that he was not alone in narrating it, and all those above him are trustworthy, except that al-Ḥasan is a mudallis and he narrated it in an ambiguous manner. The ḥadīth was mentioned by al-Haythamī in "al-Majmaʿ" (7/191) in a more complete form from Jundub ibn ʿAbd Allāh and others that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Adam and Mūsá argued, and Mūsá said: You are Adam whom Allāh created with His hand..." the ḥadīth, and he said: "It was narrated by Abū Yaʿlá and Aḥmad similarly, and al-Ṭabarānī, and their narrators are those of the authentic [collections]." I say: It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/464), Abū Yaʿlá (1/422), and Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim in "al-Sunnah" (143), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (1/83/2) through other chains from Ḥammād ibn Salamah with it, except that he said: from al-Ḥasan from Jundub and did not mention Anas between them, and its wording is: "Adam met Mūsá (peace be upon them), and Mūsá said: You are Adam whom Allāh created with His hand and placed you in His paradise and made His angels prostrate to you, then you did what you did and expelled your descendants from paradise?"
