"this isnād is good, and Yaʿqūb ibn Ḥumayd is disputed, while the rest of the men in the isnād are trustworthy." al-Mundhirī said (4/73): "And its isnād is good." al-ʿIrāqī said in "Takhrīj al-Iḥyāʾ" (4/12) "good." It has a supporting narration similar to it from the ḥadīth of Anas, so refer to what follows "By the One in Whose hand is my soul" under number (1951).

- "The most beloved names to Allāh are ʿAbdullāh, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, and al-Ḥārith." It was recorded by Ibn ʿAdī in "al-Kāmil" (Q 8/2) through the route of Abū Yaʿlá, and this is in "his Musnad" (2/739) from Ismāʿīl ibn Muslim from al-Ḥasan from Anas, raised [to the Prophet]. I say: This isnād is weak; al-Ḥasan is al-Baṣrī and he narrated it with ʿanʿanah, and Ismāʿīl ibn Muslim and Abū Isḥāq al-Makkī are weak in ḥadīth as stated in "al-Taqrīb," and al-Haythamī criticized it in "al-Majmaʿ" (8/49). However, the ḥadīth has a strong supporting narration transmitted by al-Ḥajjāj ibn Arṭāh from ʿUmayr ibn Saʿīd from Sabrā ibn Abī Sabrā from his father: "that he came to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and he said: What are your children's names? He said: So-and-so, and so-and-so, and ʿAbd al-ʿUzzá. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: He is ʿAbd al-Raḥmān. Indeed, the most deserving of your names or among the best of your names if you name [your children] are ʿAbdullāh, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, and al-Ḥārith." From this perspective, it was recorded by Ibn Mandah as in "al-Iṣābah" (2/392). I say: This isnād is weak due to al-Ḥajjāj, as he is a mudallis, and he narrated it with ʿanʿanah. And Sabrā ibn Abī Sabrā, Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned him in "al-Jarḥ wa-al-Taʿdīl" (2/1/296), and he did not mention any criticism or..
