I said: Its isnād is good, and all its narrators are trustworthy. and his seeking water from Suhayl has a corroboration from the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAbbās. It was recorded by al-Bayhaqī.

- "Avoid anger." It was recorded by Aḥmad (5/408): Sufyān narrated to us from al-Zuhrī from Ḥumayd ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAwf from a man among the Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). "that a man said to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): Inform me of words I can live by and do not make it lengthy for me lest I forget, he said: Avoid anger, then he repeated it to him, and he said" and mentioned it. I said: This isnād is authentic, its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs, and the anonymity of the Companion does not harm as is known. The ḥadīth was attributed by al-Suyūṭī to Ibn Abī al-Dunyā in "Kitāb Dhamm al-Ghaḍab," and Ibn ʿAsākir, and he missed its presence in "al-Musnad" as did al-Munāwī, and he did not comment on its isnād at all!

- "Avoid major sins, aim for righteousness, and receive glad tidings." It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/394) from Ibn Lahīʿah, Abū al-Zubayr narrated to us from Jābir that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and mentioned it.
