- "Indeed, in it (meaning cupping) is a cure." Narrated by al-Bukhārī (10/124), Muslim (7/21), al-Ḥākim (4/208 and 409), and Aḥmad (3/335) through the route of ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith, who reported that Bukayr informed him that ʿĀṣim ibn ʿUmar ibn Qatādah informed him that Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh visited the one with a bandaged head, then said: "I will not leave until you undergo cupping, for I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say..." and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim included it in his collection alongside the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim] but made an error.

- "Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the rewards of those who follow him, without that diminishing their rewards in the least. And whoever calls to misguidance will bear a sin similar to the sins of those who follow him, without that diminishing their sins in the least." Narrated by Muslim (8/62), Abū Dāwūd (2/262), al-Tirmidhī (2/112), al-Dārimī (1/126-127), Ibn Mājah (1/91), and Aḥmad (2/397) from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah, raised [to the Prophet]. Al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth."

- "What a wretched mount for a man is 'they claim'." Narrated by Ibn al-Mubārak in "al-Zuhd" (no. 377): al-Awzāʿī informed us from Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr from Abū Qilābah from Abū Masʿūd who was asked: "What did you hear the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say about 'they claim'?" He said, and he mentioned it. It was also narrated by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (762) and Abū Dāwūd (4972)
