It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (8/93 - Nahḍah), Muslim (1/139), al-Tirmidhī (3/330-331), Ibn Mājah (2/573), al-Ṭaḥāwī in "al-Mushkil" (1/154-156), Aḥmad (1/386, 437-438, 445), and Abū Nuʿaym (4/152) through the route of Abū Isḥāq from ʿAmr ibn Maymūn from ʿAbdullāh who said: "We were with the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) in a tent, and he said..." and he mentioned it. Al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥadīth that is ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ." (Note) Al-Suyūṭī attributed it in "Ziyādāt al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaghīr" to Aḥmad, al-Tirmidhī, and Ibn Mājah only, and this is a gross oversight! It is also in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Kabīr" (1/15/2).

"Leave me as long as I leave you, for when I tell you something, take it from me. Indeed, those before you perished due to their excessive questioning and disagreements with their prophets." It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (3/379), Ibn Mājah (1/4-5), and Aḥmad (2/495) through the routes from al-Aʿmash from Abū Ṣāliḥ from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. The wording is from al-Tirmidhī, who said: "A ḥadīth that is ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ." I say: Its isnād is according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs. It was also recorded by al-Bukhārī (9/77 - Nahḍah), Muslim (4/102), al-Nasāʾī (2/2), and Aḥmad (2/247, 258, 313, 428, 447-448, 457, 467, 482, 495, 503, 508, 517) through numerous routes from Abū Hurayrah with similar wording, and it is included in "al-Irwāʾ" (155, 313).
