"he said: their fire was extinguished and Allāh defeated them." This is how both of them reported it, without including the Prophet's (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) statement: "Gabriel came to me." It is possible that this is found in al-Ṭabarānī's narration, or it might be that al-Suyūṭī narrated it by meaning to include it in the appropriate place in his book "al-Jāmiʿ"! The isnād is authentic, its narrators up to Ibn Khinbash meet the criteria of Muslim, although there is a difference of opinion regarding his companionship. The ḥāfiẓ in "al-Iṣābah" chose the opinion that decisively affirms his companionship, and this ḥadīth supports that, as it explicitly states that he met the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam).
" قال: فطفئت نارهم وهزمهم الله ﵎ ". هكذا أخرجاه ليس عندهما من قوله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " أتاني جبريل " فلعله في رواية الطبراني ويحتمل أن يكون من تصرف السيوطي رواه بالمعنى ليتمكن من إيراده في محله المناسب من كتاب " الجامع "! والإسناد صحيح، رجاله إلى ابن خنبش على شرط مسلم وقد اختلفوا في صحبته وقد اختار الحافظ في " الإصابة " قول من جزم بأن له صحبة وهذا الحديث يشهد لذلك. فإنه قد صرح فيه أنه أدرك النبي ﷺ.
"Gabriel came to him at the beginning of the revelation, taught him ablution and prayer, and when he finished the ablution, he took a handful of water and sprinkled it on his private parts." It was narrated by Ibn Mājah (1/172-173), al-Dāraquṭnī (p. 41), al-Ḥākim (3/217), al-Bayhaqī (1/161), and Aḥmad (4/161) through the chain of Ibn Lahīʿah from ʿUqayl ibn Khālid from Ibn Shihāb from ʿUrwah from Usāmah ibn Zayd from his father Zayd ibn Ḥārithah from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). I say: This isnād consists of narrators all of whom are trustworthy according to the two Shaykhs, except for Ibn Lahīʿah, who is weak due to his poor memory. However, he is followed by Rushdīn in Aḥmad and his son (5/203) and al-Dāraquṭnī, who is Ibn Saʿd and is similarly weak like Ibn Lahīʿah, so one supports the other. Especially since there is a corroborating narration from Abū Hurayrah, raised to the Prophet, with the wording: "Gabriel came to me and said: O Muḥammad, when you perform ablution, sprinkle [water]." It was narrated by Ibn Mājah (1/173) in a shortened form and al-Tirmidhī (1/71), and this is his wording. He said: "It is a strange ḥadīth, and I heard Muḥammad say: al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī al-Hāshimī is a rejected narrator."
" أتاه جبريل ﵇ في أول ما أوحي إليه، فعلمه الوضوء والصلاة، فلما فرغ من الوضوء أخذ غرفة من ماء فنضح بها فرجه ". أخرجه ابن ماجه (١ / ١٧٢ ـ ١٧٣) والدارقطني (ص ٤١) والحاكم (٣ / ٢١٧) والبيهقي (١ / ١٦١) وأحمد (٤ / ١٦١) من طريق ابن لهيعة عن عقيل بن خالد عن ابن شهاب عن عروة عن أسامة بن زيد عن أبيه زيد بن حارثة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم به. قلت: وهذا إسناد رجاله كلهم ثقات رجال الشيخين غير ابن لهيعة، فهو ضعيف لسوء حفظه، لكن تابعه رشدين عند أحمد وابنه (٥ / ٢٠٣) والدارقطني وهو ابن سعد وهو في الضعف مثل ابن لهيعة، فأحدهما يقوي الآخر. لاسيما وله شاهد من حديث أبي هريرة مرفوعا بلفظ: " جاءني جبريل، فقال: يا محمد إذا توضأت فانتضخ ". أخرجه ابن ماجه (١ / ١٧٣) مختصرا والترمذي (١ / ٧١) وهذا لفظه وقال: " حديث غريب وسمعت محمدا يقول: الحسن بن علي الهاشمي منكر الحديث ".
