I said: Its chain is authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "Sharḥ al-Bukhārī": "Al-Nasāʾī connected it, and its chain is according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī." Al-Ṭabarānī also narrated it in "al-Ṣaghīr" (p. 22) from ʿImrān ibn Ẓubyān from ʿAdī with it. Neither he nor Aḥmad has the phrase: "on the day of Qurayẓah." Then al-Bukhārī narrated it (4/79-80, 5/51, 7/109) and Muslim (7/163) and al-Ṭayālisī (p. 99, no. 730) and Aḥmad (4/299, 302) from Shuʿbah from ʿAdī with it, except that he was uncertain and said: "satirize them" or he said "attack them." Al-Ḥākim also narrated it (3/487) from ʿĪsá ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān who said: ʿAdī ibn Thābit narrated it to me with the wording: He said to Ḥassān ibn Thābit: "Indeed, the Holy Spirit is with you as long as you attack them." He has another extended path with him, and it will come (1970) with the wording: "Go to Abū Bakr..." In the Musnad (4/298, 301) and "al-Muʿjam al-Ṣaghīr" (p. 207) there is a second path, which is from Abū Isḥāq from al-Barāʾ. Its chain is authentic according to their criteria. It has a corroborating narration with the wording: "Satirize with poetry, for the believer strives with his self and his wealth, and by the One in whose hand is Muḥammad's soul, it is as if you are shooting them with arrows."

"Satirize with poetry, for the believer strives with his self and his wealth, and by the One in whose hand is Muḥammad's soul, it is as if you are shooting them with arrows." Aḥmad narrated it (3/460): ʿAlī ibn Baḥr narrated to us, ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad al-Darāwardī narrated to us from Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh, the nephew of Ibn Shihāb, from Ibn Shihāb from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Kaʿb from Kaʿb ibn Mālik as a marfūʿ narration with it. This chain is ḥasan, its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs except for ʿAlī ibn Baḥr, and he is trustworthy
