- "There is no contagion, no omen, and no ghoul." It was recorded by Muslim (7/32) and Aḥmad (3/293, 312) through various chains from Abū al-Zubayr from Jābir with it. Ibn Jurayj narrated: Abū al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jābir ibn ʿAbdullāh with it, except that he said: "and no ṣafar" instead of "and no omen." It was also recorded by Muslim and al-Ṭaḥāwī (2/378) and Aḥmad (3/381).

- "There is no contagion, no ṣafar, and no hāmmah." It was recorded by Muslim (7-31) and al-Ṭaḥāwī (2-378) and Aḥmad (3/449-450) from al-Zuhrī who said: al-Sāʾib ibn Yazīd ibn Ukht Namir narrated to me in a marfūʿ form with it.

- "There is no contagion, no omen, but I like a good omen, a good word." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (10/175) and Muslim (7/33) and Abū Dāwūd (2/158) and al-Tirmidhī (1/305) who authenticated it, and al-Ṭaḥāwī (2/378) and al-Ṭayālisī (no. 1961) and Aḥmad (3/130, 154, 173, 178, 276) and likewise Ibn Mājah (2/362) through various chains from Qatādah from Anas with it. Qatādah explicitly stated hearing in a narration with Aḥmad. It has a corroborating narration from Abū Hurayrah with a similar meaning. It was recorded by the two Shaykhs and Aḥmad (2-266) through al-Zuhrī from ʿUbaydullāh ibn ʿAbdullāh from him. It has another chain with the wording: "There is no contagion, no omen, and I love a good omen."
