Muḥammad ibn Ismāʿīl ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn informed us, Abū Ḥāmid Aḥmad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad al-Azharī informed us, Abū Muḥammad al-Mukhlidī informed us, Abū al-ʿAbbās al-Sarrāj informed us, Muḥammad ibn ʿUthmān ibn Karamah al-ʿAjlī informed us, Abū Usāmah informed us: Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr narrated to me, Abū Salamah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān informed us from Abū Hurayrah, raised [to the Prophet]. I said: This isnād is good; all its men are trustworthy and well-known. Abū al-Maʿālī is the Persian Thamāl al-Nīsābūrī, the narrator of "al-Sunan al-Kubrā" by al-Bayhaqī, and the narrator of "al-Bukhārī" from al-ʿAyyār as mentioned in "Shadharāt al-Dhahab" (4/124-125). Abū Ḥāmid al-Azharī is the trustworthy Nīsābūrī al-Shurṭī as mentioned in "al-Shadharāt" also (3/311). Abū Muḥammad al-Mukhlidī's name is al-Ḥasan ibn Aḥmad ibn al-Ḥasan from the people of Nīsābūr. Al-Samʿānī said in "al-Ansāb" (514/2): "Al-Ḥākim narrated from him and declared him trustworthy, along with a group besides him. He died in the year 339." I said: This escaped the author of "al-Shadharāt," as he did not mention it in the obituaries of that year. Abū al-ʿAbbās al-Sarrāj is the trustworthy ḥāfiẓ known for "al-Musnad." The rest of the men of the isnād are known from the men of "al-Tahdhīb." Al-Suyūṭī mentioned the ḥadīth in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaghīr" from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah without the second part of it from the narration of Ibn Abī al-Dunyā in "Qirā al-Ḍayf," and al-Munāwī left it blank, not commenting on it at all.
