it particularly burdens the stomach, which becomes preoccupied with treating and rectifying it instead of removing the remainder of the illness and its effects. This may either halt the remainder or cause it to increase. When the beet and barley were placed before him, he instructed him to partake of it, as it is one of the most beneficial foods for the convalescent, especially if cooked with beet roots. This is the most suitable food for someone with a weak stomach, and it does not produce harmful humors.

- "He forbade solitude: that a man should spend the night alone or travel alone." Narrated by Aḥmad (2/91) from ʿĀṣim ibn Muḥammad from his father from Ibn ʿUmar, ascribed to the Prophet. I say: This isnād is authentic and meets the criteria of al-Bukhārī. All its narrators are those of the two Shaykhs, except for Abū ʿUbaydah al-Ḥaddād, whose name is ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Wāṣil, and he is among the narrators of al-Bukhārī alone and is trustworthy. ʿĀṣim ibn Muḥammad is the son of Zayd ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb al-ʿUmari, and he narrated from the four ʿAbd Allāhs, including his grandfather ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar. The ḥadīth was mentioned in "al-Majmaʿ" (8/104) where it was stated: "Narrated by Aḥmad, and its narrators are those of the authentic collections."
