"this is a strange ḥadīth, and ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr al-Raqī narrated this ḥadīth from Maʿmar from Qatādah from Anas, and neither of the two ḥadīths is authentic according to the scholars of ḥadīth. Al-Ḥārith ibn Nabhan is not considered a reliable narrator by them, and we do not know of any basis for Qatādah's ḥadīth from Anas." Al-ʿUqaylī said after mentioning several ḥadīths of this al-Ḥārith: "None of these ḥadīths are corroborated; their isnāds are objectionable and the texts are known through other isnāds." I said: This al-Ḥārith is abandoned, and al-Raqī contradicted him as mentioned in al-Tirmidhī's statement. He is reliable, so his narration from Maʿmar is the correct one, and further discussion will follow. The third [narration]: from Salamah ibn Ḥabīb from ʿUrwah ibn ʿAlī al-Sahmī from him. It was recorded by Ibn Makhlad in "al-Muntaqá min Aḥādīthih" (82/1) and al-ʿUqaylī in "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ" (331) who said: "ʿUrwah is unknown in transmission, and Salamah is similar." Al-Dhahabī said the same. The fourth [narration]: from Saʿīd ibn Bashīr from ʿUmar ibn Dāram from Sayf ibn Kurayb from him, elevated. It was recorded by Ibn al-Aʿrābī in "al-Muʿjam" (18/1). This isnād is weak; Saʿīd ibn Bashīr is weak, and those above him are unknown to me. 2 - As for the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿUmar, Ibn Mājah said: ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad narrated to us, Wakīʿ narrated to us from Sufyān from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Dīnār from him. I said: This isnād is authentic; all its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs, except for ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad who is Ibn Abī al-Khaṣīb, and he is truthful though he may err, as the ḥāfiẓ said. 3 - As for the ḥadīth of Anas, it is narrated by Sulaymān ibn ʿUbayd Allāh al-Raqī, ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿAmr narrated to us..
