and he was followed by ʿUthmān ibn Ḥuṣayn ibn ʿAllān al-Dimashqī from ʿUrwah with it, without the story, and he said "one day" instead of "morning." It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī (2/230) and its chain is also authentic.

- "Rejoice, ʿAmmār, the rebellious group will kill you." It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (2/310) through the route of al-ʿAlāʾ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from his father from Abū Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it, and said: "A ḥadīth that is ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ." I said: Its chain is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim. It was also recorded by him in "Ṣaḥīḥ" (8/185, 186) and by Aḥmad (5/306, 306-307) from the ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, who said: Someone better than me (Abū Qatādah) informed me that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to ʿAmmār when he was digging the trench and wiping his head, saying: "Woe to the son of Sumayyah, the rebellious group will kill you..." the ḥadīth. It was also recorded by al-Bukhārī (1/124, 2/205) and Aḥmad (3/5, 22, 28, 91) through another route from Abū Saʿīd in the story of building the mosque, who said: "The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) saw him, and he began to shake the dust off him and said: 'Woe to ʿAmmār, the rebellious group will kill him, he calls them to Paradise and they call him to the Fire.' ʿAmmār said: 'I seek refuge with Allāh from tribulations.'" The ḥadīth has been reported from other Companions as well in Muslim and Aḥmad (2/161, 164, 206, 4/197, 179, 5/215, 6/289, 300, 311, 315), Ibn Saʿd in "al-Ṭabaqāt" (1/2/3, 3/1/177, 180, 181, 185), Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (4/361, 7/198), and al-Ḥākim in "al-Mustadrak" (3/386-387)
