and likewise, it was narrated by al-Lālakāʾī from him. It is a strong witness because it is not said based on opinion.

- "My eyes sleep, but my heart does not sleep." It was recorded by Ibn Khuzaymah in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (1/9/2) through the route of Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd from Ibn ʿAjlān, who said: I heard my father narrating from Abū Hurayrah from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), who said it, and he mentioned it. I say: This is a good isnād. And it has a sound witness from ʿĀʾishah's ḥadīth, who said: "I said: O Messenger of Allāh! Do you sleep before performing Witr? He said: O ʿĀʾishah, my eyes sleep, but my heart does not sleep." It was narrated by the two Shaykhs in their "Ṣaḥīḥayn" and others, and it is also found in "Ṣaḥīḥ Abū Dāwūd" (1212). It has a third witness from the ḥadīth of Abū Bakrah as marfūʿ. It was recorded by Aḥmad (5/40, 49, 51-52). And from Ibn ʿAbbās in the midst of a ḥadīth. It was recorded by Abū Nuʿaym (4/304-305).

- "The best death is for a man to die defending his right." It was recorded by Aḥmad (1/184) and from him by Abū ʿAmr al-Dānī in "al-Fitan" (148/1) and Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (8/290) through the route of Ibrāhīm ibn al-Muhājir from Abū Bakr ibn Ḥafṣ
