"Allāh and the believers refuse that there be disagreement over you, O Abū Bakr." It was recorded by Aḥmad (6/47) and al-Ḥasan ibn ʿArafah in "His Part" (2/2) and through his route by Ibn Balbān in "Tuḥfat al-Ṣiddīq, in the Virtues of Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq" (50/1) from the route of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Bakr al-Qurashī from Ibn Abī Mulaykah from ʿĀʾishah who said: "When the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) became seriously ill, he said to ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Bakr: Bring me a shoulder blade or a tablet so I may write a document for Abū Bakr, so there will be no disagreement over him. When ʿAbd al-Raḥmān went to get up, he said..." and he mentioned it. Ibn Balbān said: "Ibn Abī Mulaykah Abū Muḥammad, also known as Abū Bakr al-Qurashī, was the only one to narrate it." I said: He is weak, but he was not the only one to narrate it, as Aḥmad (6/106) said: Muʾammal narrated to us, saying: Nāfiʿ, meaning Ibn ʿUmar, narrated to us, and Ibn Abī Mulaykah narrated it similarly. This is a good isnād in follow-ups, Nāfiʿ is trustworthy and reliable, and Muʾammal is Ibn Ismāʿīl, who is truthful but has poor memory as stated in "al-Taqrīb." There is another route narrated by ʿUrwah from ʿĀʾishah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to me during his illness: "Call for me Abū Bakr and your brother so I may write a document, for I fear that someone will wish and someone will say: I am more deserving, but Allāh and the believers refuse except Abū Bakr."
