203), and Abū al-Ḥasan Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad, known as Ibn al-Jundī, in "al-Fawāʾid al-Ḥisān" (vol. 2, p. 1), from the ḥadīth of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Jaʿfar, raised [to the Prophet], with the wording from Abū Dāwūd and al-Tirmidhī, and the others said: "I saw" instead of "he was." Al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth." In a narration by Aḥmad (1/204) with the wording: "The last thing I saw of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was that in one of his hands were fresh dates, and in the other, a cucumber, and he was eating from this and some from that." In its isnād is Naṣr ibn Bāb, who is weak. Al-Haythamī attributed it in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (5/38) to al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" in a long ḥadīth, and said: "In it is Aṣram ibn Ḥawshab, who is abandoned." Likewise, it was attributed to him alone by al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Fatḥ" (9/496) and he said: "Its isnād is weak." They both missed that it is also in "al-Musnad" as we mentioned, and in al-Ḥāfiẓ's phrase there is an understatement of the weakness of its isnād, although it is severe, as indicated by al-Haythamī's statement in the narration: "He is abandoned." Therefore, I say: The ḥadīth with this addition is weak, and neither isnād strengthens the other due to their severe weakness.
