and his son Kathīr is reliable, for Abū Zurʿah narrated from him, and it is known that he only narrates from reliable sources. In fact, when asked about him, he said: "Truthful." Abū Ḥātim said: "His position is truthful, and he was inclined towards Shīʿism," as mentioned by his son in "al-Jarḥ wa-al-Taʿdīl." I said: I do not know if al-ʿUqaylī meant this isnād or another when he said after the ḥadīth of Ibn Abī al-Ṣahbāʾ: "It is not corroborated from Thābit, and it has been narrated with another isnād that is sound." al-Manāwī quoted al-Ḥāfiẓ al-ʿIrāqī saying: "All its paths are weak." Then al-Manāwī said: "The author should have strengthened it by its multiplicity, which elevated it to the rank of ḥasan, and for this reason, he said in 'al-Manār': it is ḥasan due to them." Rather, al-Mundhirī said: al-Bazzār narrated it with a good isnād." (Note) The majority have distinguished between Salām ibn Abī al-Ṣahbāʾ and Salām ibn Sulaymān al-Muzanī Abū al-Mundhir al-Kūfī, originally from Basra, whom al-Nasāʾī narrated from Thābit from Anas in a marfūʿ ḥadīth: "From the world, women and perfume have been made beloved to me, and the coolness of my eyes is in prayer." Among them is Ibn Abī Ḥātim, who said about the first of them (2/1/257) from his father: "A shaykh." And he said about the other (2/1/259): "My father said: truthful, sound in ḥadīth."
