It was recorded by al-Khaṭīb in "al-Tārīkh" (14/98). I said: This is weak and not authentic; Layth, who is Ibn Abī Sulaym, was confused. And Dhū al-Nūn was deemed weak by al-Dāraqūṭnī and al-Jawzaqānī. And Abū ʿUmar al-Ramlī, I did not know him. He was followed by Aḥmad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-Fayūmī, who narrated to us from Abū al-Fiḍl Dhū al-Nūn in a summarized form without mentioning the slip of the scholar and the might of the just ruler. It was recorded by Abū Nuʿaym (10/4), then he recorded it through the route of Muḥammad ibn ʿUqbah al-Makkī from Faḍl ibn ʿIyāḍ similarly. (Benefit) Al-Bayhaqī narrated from al-Shāfiʿī (may Allāh have mercy on him) that he said: "And those of status whose slips are overlooked: are those not known for evil, so when one of them slips..."

- "he would not perform the qunūt except when supplicating for a people or supplicating against a people." It was recorded by Ibn Khuzaymah in "Ṣaḥīḥ" number (620): narrated to us by Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn Marzūq al-Bāhilī, narrated to us by Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Anṣārī, narrated to us by Saʿīd ibn Abī ʿArūbah from Qatādah, from Anas in a marfūʿ form.
