Ibn al-Aʿrābī recorded it in "his Muʿjam" (p. 33/1): Tamām (Muḥammad ibn Ghālib) informed us, ʿAbd al-Ṣamad ibn al-Nuʿmān informed us, ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Salamah informed us, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Dīnār from him. Al-Sahmī also recorded it in "Tārīkh Jurjān" (122) from this route. I said: This isnād is good. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, who is al-Mājishūn, and Ibn Dīnār are trustworthy, from the men of the two Shaykhs, and ʿAbd al-Ṣamad ibn al-Nuʿmān, al-Dhahabī said: "Yahya ibn Maʿīn and others declared him trustworthy, and al-Dāraqūṭnī and al-Nasāʾī said: he is not strong," and Ibn Ḥibbān and al-ʿAjlī also declared him trustworthy, as in "al-Lisān," so his ḥadīth is ḥasan at the very least.
