al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (6/282): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī from Muḥammad ibn ʿĀṣim from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn Yazīd al-Rifāʿī, whom I do not know, and the rest of the men are those of the authentic [collections]." I said: We know that ʿAbd Allāh is trustworthy. As for Muḥammad ibn ʿĀṣim, he is supported by Muḥammad ibn Makhlad who is trustworthy, so his unknown status does not harm [the narration]. And ʿĀṣim, who is the son of Bahdalah, was not relied upon by the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim]. There is another chain narrated by Ibrāhīm ibn Ḥammād al-Azdī who said: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ḥammād al-Baṣrī narrated to us, saying: al-Aʿmash narrated from Abū Wāʾil, from ʿAbd Allāh in a marfūʿ form with the wording: "Overlook the sin of the generous, for Allāh takes his hand whenever he stumbles." It was extracted by Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (4/108) and he said: "It is rare." I said: And it appears that Ibrāhīm ibn Ḥammād al-Azdī is al-Zuhrī al-Ḍarīr whom al-Dāraqutnī weakened. Then it was narrated (5/58-59) via al-Ṭabarānī from Bishr ibn ʿUbayd Allāh al-Dārisī who said: Muḥammad ibn Ḥumayd al-ʿAtakī narrated to us, from al-Aʿmash, from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbd Allāh with the wording: "Overlook...." And this Bishr, Ibn ʿAdī said:
