(Note) His statement in the ḥadīth of Jābir, "khabaʾ," is with a broken khāʾ, meaning deception, as in "al-Fayḍ."

- "There is nothing better for two who love each other than marriage." It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (1847), al-Ḥākim (2/160), al-Bayhaqī (7/78), al-Ṭabarānī (3/106/1), and Tamām in "al-Fawāʾid" (130/1), and al-ʿUqaylī in "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ" (398), and al-Maqdisī in "al-Mukhtārah" (62/281/2) through the route of Muḥammad ibn Muslim al-Ṭāʾifī who narrated to us from Ibrāhīm ibn Maysarah from Ṭāwūs from Ibn ʿAbbās who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the conditions of Muslim, and they did not record it because Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah and Maʿmar ibn Rāshid stopped it at Ibrāhīm ibn Maysarah on Ibn ʿAbbās." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: But this al-Ṭāʾifī, despite being among the men of Muslim, has weakness in his memory. The ḥāfiẓ indicated this by saying in "al-Taqrīb": "Truthful but makes mistakes." Therefore, he is not used as evidence, especially with the contradiction that al-Ḥākim pointed out. Al-ʿUqaylī recorded it through the route of al-Ḥumaydī: Sufyān narrated to us from Ibrāhīm with it mursal. He said: "This is more appropriate."
