Sharḥabīl ibn Saʿd, as affirmed by Abū Dāwūd and Abū Ḥātim, and it is the narration of al-Bukhārī. This is further supported by the fact that Zayd ibn Abī Unaysah also narrated it from Sharḥabīl al-Anṣārī from Jābir with it. It was recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (2073) and al-Quḍāʿī in "Musnad al-Shihāb" (folio 41/2). Since the isnād revolves around Sharḥabīl ibn Saʿd, it is a weak isnād, because Sharḥabīl is almost unanimously considered weak. Only Ibn Ḥibbān and his teacher Ibn Khuzaymah authenticated him, and they included him in "al-Ṣaḥīḥ," which is due to their well-known leniency. Yes, the ḥadīth has another route from Jābir that strengthens it. It was recorded by Ibn ʿAdī in "al-Kāmil" (folio 20/2) through the route of Ayyūb ibn Suwayd from al-Awzāʿī from Muḥammad ibn al-Munkadir from Jābir, raising it [to the Prophet]. I say: Ayyūb is truthful but makes mistakes, as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb," so he is a good witness. The ḥadīth has been authenticated through another route in a shortened form with the wording: "Whoever is tested with a trial and mentions it, has thanked it; and whoever conceals it, has denied it."
- "Whoever is tested with a trial and mentions it, has thanked it; and whoever conceals it, has denied it." It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (4814) and Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (1/259) through the route of Jarīr from al-Aʿmash from Abū Sufyān from Jābir from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). I say: This isnād is authentic according to the conditions of Muslim. It has a corroborating narration from Ibn ʿUmar, raised with a similar wording. It was recorded by Ibn ʿAsākir (16/302/1), and it includes ʿUthmān ibn Fāʾid, who is weak. There is a blank in the manuscript, so the complete isnād is not clear.
