pushing him away from herself. I said, "Why are you doing this to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)?" The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) laughed and said, "Leave her, for she does this, and more than this." I said: The men of its isnād are trustworthy, the men of "al-Ṣaḥīḥ," except for Yaḥyá ibn ʿAbd Allāh and Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, and Ibn Ḥibbān has declared them trustworthy (2/301, 1/209). The first of them was narrated from by a group of trustworthy people as mentioned in "al-Jarḥ" (4/2/161), and Ibn Ḥibbān said: "The people of Madīnah narrated from him, his kunyah is Abū ʿAbd Allāh, he died in the year 172." Thus, the ḥadīth with this witness is ḥasan. And Allāh knows best.

- "If the one who bought it (meaning the stolen item) from the thief is not suspected, the owner has the choice: if he wishes, he takes the price from the one who stole it from him, and if he wishes, he pursues his thief."
