then I saw the ḥadīth was also recorded by Ibn Ḥibbān (1939) through the route of Abū Yaʿlá: Muḥammad ibn Bakkār narrated to us, Ismāʿīl ibn Zakariyyā narrated to us, ʿĀṣim al-Aḥwal narrated it. I said: And this isnād is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim. And Ibn Bakkār is al-ʿAyshī al-Baṣrī, thus the ḥadīth is authentic, and all praise is due to Allāh.

"Whoever sees someone afflicted and says: 'All praise is due to Allāh who has spared me from what He has afflicted you with and favored me over many of those He has created with a great favor,' that affliction will not befall him." It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (2/253) through the route of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar al-ʿUmrī from Suhayl ibn Abī Ṣāliḥ from his father from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it. And he said: "This ḥadīth is (ḥasan) and rare from this route." I said: Its narrators are trustworthy except for al-ʿUmrī, who is weak due to his poor memory. I have found another route for it better than this, narrated by Marwān ibn Muḥammad al-Ṭāṭarī: al-Walīd ibn ʿUtbah narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn Sūqah narrated to us from Nāfiʿ from Ibn ʿUmar, raised [to the Prophet] with it. It was recorded by Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (5/13) and in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (1/271), and from him by Ibn ʿAsākir in "Tārīkh Dimashq" (15/255/2) through routes from Marwān with it. And Abū Nuʿaym said: "Rare from the ḥadīth of Muḥammad, Marwān alone narrated it from al-Walīd."
