"Bring out the young women and those in seclusion, so that they may witness the Eid and the supplication of the Muslims, and let the menstruating women keep away from the prayer area of the Muslims." It was narrated by al-Ḥumaydī in his "Musnad" number (362): Sufyān told us, saying: Ayūb narrated to us from Ḥafṣah who said: We asked Umm ʿAṭiyyah if she heard this from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)? She said: Yes, by my father, and whenever she narrated from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), she would say: By my father, I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and she mentioned it. I said: And this isnād is authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī and Muslim, and they both narrated it similarly, adding in one of their narrations: "I said: O Messenger of Allāh, one of us does not have a jilbāb? He said: Let her sister lend her from her jilbāb." It is also with al-Ḥumaydī (361). Muslim added in another narration: "She said: The menstruating women should come out and be behind the people, and they should say the takbīr with the people." Al-Bukhārī added in his narration: "I said to her: Even the menstruating women? She said: Yes, doesn't the menstruating woman witness ʿArafāt and witness such and such?"
