and a group of trustworthy narrators have reported from him. The ḥadīth is authentic, as it has supporting evidence, including from Abū Bakrah in a marfūʿ form, as recorded by Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (2/224) through the route of Abū Jaʿfar al-Akharram, who said: ʿAmmār ibn Khālid narrated to us, who said: al-Qāsim ibn Mālik al-Muzanī narrated to us from Khālid al-Ḥadhdhāʾ from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Bakrah from his father. The men in this chain are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim], except for ʿAmmār ibn Khālid, who is trustworthy, as well as those below him. Al-Haythamī said (10/169): It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī, and its men are the men of the authentic collections, except for ʿAmmār ibn Khālid al-Wāsiṭī, who is trustworthy. It has been authentically reported from Khālid through another isnād in a mursal form, as Ibn Abī Shaybah said in "al-Muṣannaf" (12/21/1): Ḥafṣ ibn Ghiyāth informed us from Khālid from Abū Qilābah from Ibn Muḥayriz in a marfūʿ form. This is a sound mursal isnād, its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs, and the name of Ibn Muḥayriz is ʿAbd Allāh. However, Yaʿqūb ibn Aḥmad al-Ṣayrafī recorded it in "al-Muntaqá min Fawāʾidih" (257/2) through the route of Abū Nuʿaym, who said: Sufyān narrated to us from Khālid from Abū Qilābah from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Muḥayriz. This might be more correct, as Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned it (2/206) from the narration of Bishr ibn al-Mufaḍḍal from Khālid al-Ḥadhdhāʾ. He said: "My father said: It is said: He is ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥayriz, the correct one. And likewise, Khālid said from Abū Qilābah." I said: If he is ʿAbd Allāh, then the isnād is authentic, and if he is ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, it is potentially authentic because Ibn Ḥibbān included him in "al-Thiqāt" (1/129) and a group has narrated from him.
