Among them is their saying: It is like (nothing)
ومنها قولهم: هو ك (لا شيء)
And its existence is like (non-existence), where (non) with [what] (288) after it becomes one word, and the grammatical inflection is applied to its end, and it is defined with "al" in examples like: (al-lāḥajar). It is said: it means (other than), except that its inflection is more apparent in what follows it, because it resembles a particle, as in (except) meaning (other than). Ended (289).
ووجوده ك (لا وجود) صارت (لا) مع [ما] (٢٨٨) بعدها كلمة واحدة، وأجري الإِعراب على آخرها، وعرّفت باللام في مثل: (اللاحجر) . وقيل: هو بمعنى (غير) ، إلاّ أنّ إعرابها أظهرُ فيما بعدها، لكونها على صورة الحرف، كما في (إلاّ) بمعنى (غير) . انتهى (٢٨٩) .
Among them is their saying: And this is not as so-and-so claimed to be correct
ومنها قولهم: وليس هذا كما زعمه فلان صواباً
And its counterparts and similar to it is the saying of the commentator: And it is not as many people imagined it to be constructed. The esteemed commentator al-Siyalkūtī (290) said: the preposition and the object of the preposition are in the position (291) of the verbal noun (292). Meaning: it is not constructed in a manner like what many people imagined, or in the position of the state of the pronoun (293) (constructed), meaning: it is not constructed while being similar to what many imagined, as stated by the author of al-Mughnī (294) in his explanation of the verse: (As We began the first creation, We will repeat it) (295). And the statement that it is the predicate of "is not", and (constructed) is a substitute for it, or a second predicate, is an overcomplication.
ونظائره ومثله قول المطوّل: وليس كما توهم كثير من الناس مبنياً. قالَ محشيه الفاضل السيالكوتي (٢٩٠) : الجار والمجرور في موضع (٢٩١) المصدر (٢٩٢) . أي: ليس مبنياً بناءً مثل ما توهمه كثير من الناس، أو في موقع الحال من ضمير (٢٩٣) (مبنياً) ، أي: ليس مبنياً حال كونه مماثلاً لما توهمه كثيرٌ، على ما قاله صاحب المغني (٢٩٤) في قوله تعالى: (كما بَدَأنا أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُعيدُهُ) (٢٩٥) . والقولُ بأنّه خبر ليس، و (مبنياً) بدلٌ منه، أو خبرٌ بعدَ خبرٍ، تكلُّفٌ.
