Similarly, in al-Kashshāf (296): (And they were all unable). Sayyid al-Sharīf (229), may his secret be sanctified, said: (unanimously) is an adjective for an omitted source, meaning: inability that comes from all of them, which is an expression of comprehensiveness [and inclusiveness], for if the inability comes from the last, it has first come from the first. It is said: [its meaning is]: inability surpassing all of them, indicating its comprehensiveness of them and surpassing them, which is more emphatic than saying: (they were all unable). It was countered that surpassing, in the sense of transgression [and surpassing, is transitive] by itself, and what is transitive with (ʿan) means pardon. It is said: inability coming from the last to the first. It was countered that the opposite of (to) is (from) not (ʿan). End.
ومثله قول الكشاف (٢٩٦) : (وقد عجزوا عن آخرهم) . قال (٢٢) السيد الشريف (٢٩٧٩، قدّس سره: (عن آخرهم) صفة مصدر محذوف، أي: عجزاً صادراً عن آخرهم، وهو عبارة عن الشمول [والاستيعاب] ، فإنّ العجز إذا صدر عن الآخر فقد صدر أوّلاً عن الأوّل. وقيل: [معناه] : عجزاً متجاوزاً عن آخرهم فيدلّ على شموله إيّاهم وتجاوزه عنهم، فهو أبلغُ من أنْ يُقال: (عجزوا كلُّهُم) . ورُدَّ بأنّ التجاوز، بمعنى التعدي [والمجاوزة، يتعدى] بنفسه، والذي يتعدى ب (عن) معناه العفو. وقيل: عجزاً صادراً عن آخرهم إلى أولهم. ورُدّ بأنّ مقابل (إلى) هو (مِن) لا (عَنْ) . انتهى.
As in al-Kashshāf (298): (And suffice it to say with Sībawayh's decisive indication). Sayyid al-Sharīf (299) said: Meaning: it suffices and is enough for you with his indication, and it is an active participle from prohibition, as if it prohibits you from seeking evidence other than it. It is said: (Zayd is sufficient for you as a man), meaning: [he] prohibits you from others with his seriousness and benefit. And (decisive indication) is in the accusative as a specification from suffice it to say. End.
كقول الكشاف (٢٩٨) : (وناهِيكَ بتسوية سيبويه دلالةً قاطعةً) . قال السيد الشريف (٢٩٩) : أي: حسبُك وكافيك بتسويته، وهو اسم فاعل من النهي، كأنّه ينهاكَ عن تطلّب دليل سواه، يُقال: (زيدٌ ناهيكَ مِن رجلٍ) ، أي: [هو] ينهاك عن غيره بجده وغنائه. و (دلالة قاطعة) نصب على التمييز من ناهيك. انتهى.
