(al-Bukhārī and Muslim) and (when he prayed [in an open space with nothing to screen him], he would plant a spear in front of him and pray towards it, with the people behind him). Sometimes (he would set his mount in front of him and pray towards it), which is different from praying in camel resting places, as he (forbade it). Sometimes (he would take the saddle, set it upright, and pray towards its back end) (Muslim and Abū Dāwūd). He would say: (When one of you places something like the back end of a saddle in front of him, let him pray and not worry about who passes beyond that) (al-Nasāʾī and Aḥmad with a sound chain). And (he once prayed towards a tree) (al-Bukhārī, Muslim, and Abū Yaʿlá). And (sometimes he would pray towards the bed while ʿĀʾishah, may Allāh be pleased with her, was lying on it [under her cover]) (Ibn Khuzaymah in his Ṣaḥīḥ and al-Ṭabarānī). The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) would not allow anything to pass between him and the screen, for (he was praying when a sheep came running in front of him, so he hurried until his stomach was against the wall [and it passed behind him])
