(Muslim narrated it similarly, as did Abū Dāwūd, al-Nasāʾī, and al-Tirmidhī, who authenticated it) then (the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) would say the taslīm to his right: "Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allāh" [until the whiteness of his right cheek was visible] and to his left: "Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allāh" [until the whiteness of his left cheek was visible]) (Abū Dāwūd and Ibn Khuzaymah with a sound chain). And sometimes he would add in the first taslīm: "and His blessings" (al-Nasāʾī, Aḥmad, and al-Sirāj with a sound chain). And (when he said to his right: "Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allāh," he would sometimes suffice with it
(مسلم بنحوه وأبو داود والنسائي والترمذي وصححه) ثم (كان ﷺ يسلم عن يمينه: (السلام عليكم ورحمة الله) [حتى يرى بياض خده الأيمن] وعن يساره: (السلام عليكم ورحمة الله) [حتى يرى بياض خده الأيسر] )(أبو داود وابن خزيمة بسند صحيح). وكان أحيانا يزيد في التسليمة الأولى: (وبركاته)(النسائي وأحمد والسراج بسند صحيح). و (كان إذا قال عن يمينه: (السلام عليكم ورحمة الله) اقتصر - أحيانا.
