"we hum around it." - He heard a man saying in his tashahhud: (Abū Dāwūd, al-Nasāʾī, Aḥmad, and Ibn Khuzaymah) "O Allāh, I ask You, O Allāh (in another narration: by Allāh) [the One], the Eternal Refuge, who neither begets nor is born, and there is none comparable to Him, to forgive me my sins. Indeed, You are the Forgiving, the Merciful." So he (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "He has been forgiven, he has been forgiven." - He heard another man saying in his tashahhud as well: (Abū Dāwūd, al-Nasāʾī, Aḥmad, and al-Bukhārī in al-Adab al-Mufrad) "O Allāh, I ask You, for You are the Praiseworthy, there is no deity but You [alone, without partner], [the Bestower], [O] Originator of the heavens and the earth, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, [I ask You] [for Paradise and seek refuge with You from the Fire]."
