2 - (There is no one after the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) whose words are taken and left except the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). (Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr in al-Jāmiʿ 2/91) 3 - Ibn Wahb said: I heard Mālik being asked about interlacing the toes during ablution, and he said: That is not required of the people. He said: So I left him until the people had dispersed, then I said to him: We have a sunnah regarding that. He said: And what is it? I said: Al-Layth ibn Saʿd, Ibn Lahīʿah, and ʿAmr ibn al-Ḥārith narrated to us from Yazīd ibn ʿAmr al-Maʿāfirī from Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Ḥanbalī from al-Mustawrid ibn Shaddād al-Qurashī who said: I saw the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) rubbing between his toes with his little finger. He said: This ḥadīth is good, and I have never heard of it until now. Then I heard him after that being asked and he would order the interlacing of the toes.
