and his followers are more committed to it and more fortunate. Among them: 1 - "There is no one except that a sunnah of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) escapes him. Whatever I say or establish as a principle, if there is a sunnah from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) contrary to what I said, then the statement of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) is what is to be followed, and it is my statement." (Tārīkh Dimashq by Ibn ʿAsākir 15/1/3) 2 - "The Muslims have unanimously agreed that whoever becomes aware of a sunnah from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), it is not permissible for him to abandon it for the statement of anyone." (al-Fulānī p. 68) 3 - "If you find in my book something contrary to the sunnah of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), then follow the sunnah of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and leave what I said."
