that Abū Yūsuf said it is one thousand one hundred. Ibn al-Mubārak said, "Abū Yūsuf takes those trivial matters from here and there, like the weak ḥadīths"
Clarifying what contains severe weakness
Whatever is in my book of ḥadīths that contains severe weakness, I have clarified it and among them are those whose isnād is not authentic
What is left unmentioned is sound
Whatever I have not mentioned anything about, it is sound and some are more authentic than others and if someone other than me had compiled it, I would have said more about it
His thoroughness
It is a book in which no sunnah from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) with a sound isnād is mentioned
