if there is no musnad except for the mursal narrations and the musnad is not found, then the mursal is used as evidence and it is not like the connected narration in strength
فَإِذا لم يكن مُسْند غير الْمَرَاسِيل وَلم يُوجد الْمسند فالمرسل يحْتَج بِهِ وَلَيْسَ هُوَ مثل الْمُتَّصِل فِي الْقُوَّة
There is no ḥadīth from a rejected narrator in the book
لَيْسَ فِي الْكتاب حَدِيث عَن مَتْرُوك
and there is nothing in the "Sunan" book that I compiled from a man whose ḥadīth is rejected
وَلَيْسَ فِي كتاب السّنَن الَّذِي صنفته عَن رجل مَتْرُوك الحَدِيث شَيْء
Clarifying the objectionable
يبين الْمُنكر
and if there is an objectionable ḥadīth in it, I clarify that it is objectionable and there is nothing like it in the chapter
وَإِذا كَانَ فِيهِ حَدِيث مُنكر بيّنت أَنه مُنكر وَلَيْسَ على نَحوه فِي الْبَاب غَيره
Comparison between it and the books of Ibn al-Mubārak, Wakīʿ, Mālik, and Ḥammād
موازنة بَينه وَبَين كتب ابْن الْمُبَارك ووكيع وَمَالك وَحَمَّاد
and these ḥadīths are not found in the book of Ibn al-Mubārak or the book of Wakīʿ except for a small amount and most of it in the books of these [authors] are mursal narrations
وَهَذِه الْأَحَادِيث لَيْسَ مِنْهَا فِي كتاب ابْن الْمُبَارك وَلَا كتاب وَكِيع إِلَّا الشَّيْء الْيَسِير وعامته فِي كتاب هَؤُلَاءِ مَرَاسِيل
