he (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) explained that the eagerness for wealth and honor in corrupting the religion is not less than the corruption caused by two hungry wolves in a sheep pen. This is clear because a sound religion does not have this eagerness. This is because when the heart tastes the sweetness of its servitude to Allāh and its love for Him, nothing is more beloved to it than that, so it prioritizes it. By this, those who are sincere to Allāh are kept away from evil and indecency, as He, the Exalted, said (Yūsuf, 24): "Thus it was, that We might avert from him evil and indecency. Indeed, he was of Our chosen servants." For the one who is sincere to Allāh has tasted from the sweetness of servitude to Allāh what prevents him from servitude to others, and from the sweetness of love for Allāh what prevents him from loving others. For there is nothing sweeter, more delightful, more pleasant, more joyful, or more blissful to the sound heart than the sweetness of faith, which includes servitude to Allāh, love for Him, and sincerity in religion for Him. This necessitates the heart's attraction to Allāh, so the heart becomes repentant to Allāh, fearful of Him, hopeful, and in awe, as He, the Exalted, said (Qāf, 33): "Who feared the Most Merciful unseen and came with a heart returning [in repentance]."
