actions are judged by intentions, and every person will have what they intended. So whoever's migration was for Allāh and His Messenger, then their migration is for Allāh and His Messenger. And whoever's migration was for worldly gain or to marry a woman, then their migration is for what they migrated for." This principle is the foundation of the religion, and the realization of it determines the realization of the religion. Through it, Allāh sent the messengers and revealed the books. The Messenger called to it, fought for it, commanded it, and encouraged it. It is the pivot of the religion upon which everything revolves. Shirk is prevalent in the souls, and as mentioned in the ḥadīth: it is in this ummah "more hidden than the creeping of an ant." In another ḥadīth: Abū Bakr said, "O Messenger of Allāh, how can we be saved from it when it is more hidden than the creeping of an ant?" The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said, "Shall I teach you a word that if you say it, you will be saved from both its subtle and apparent forms? Say: 'O Allāh, I seek refuge in You from associating anything with You knowingly, and I seek Your forgiveness for what I do not know.'" ʿUmar used to say in his supplication: "O Allāh,
