seeks it from Allāh, for if Allāh grants it to him, he is pleased, and if He withholds it, he is displeased. The true servant of Allāh is the one who is pleased with what pleases Allāh and is displeased with what displeases Allāh, who loves what Allāh and His Messenger love, and hates what Allāh and His Messenger hate. He allies with the allies of Allāh and opposes the enemies of Allāh, the Exalted. This is the one who has perfected faith, as mentioned in the ḥadīth: "Whoever loves for the sake of Allāh, hates for the sake of Allāh, gives for the sake of Allāh, and withholds for the sake of Allāh has perfected faith." And he said: "

love for the sake of Allāh and hatred for the sake of Allāh." And in "al-Ṣaḥīḥ" from him (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): "There are three qualities, whoever possesses them will taste the sweetness of faith: that Allāh and His Messenger are more beloved to him than anything else, that he loves a person only for the sake of Allāh, and that he hates to return to disbelief after Allāh has saved him from it, just as he would hate to be thrown into the fire." This person agrees with his Lord in what He loves and what He hates, so Allāh and His Messenger are more beloved to him than anything else, and he loves the creation for the sake of Allāh, not for any other purpose. This is part of his complete love for Allāh, for the love of a beloved
