and the condemnation of those who deviate from this is mentioned repeatedly in the Quran. It has been stated that He sent all the messengers with this message, as He, the Exalted, said (Sūrah al-Anbiyāʾ, 25): "And We did not send any messenger before you except that We revealed to him that there is no deity except Me, so worship Me." And He, the Exalted, said (Sūrah al-Naḥl, 36): "And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], 'Worship Allāh and avoid ṭāghūt.'" And He, the Exalted, said to the Children of Israel (Sūrah al-ʿAnkabūt, 56): "O My servants who have believed, indeed My earth is spacious, so worship only Me." (Sūrah al-Baqarah, 41): "And fear only Me." And He said (Sūrah al-Baqarah, 21): "O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous." And He said (Sūrah al-Dhāriyāt, 56): "And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me." And He, the Exalted, said (Sūrah al-Zumar, 11-15): "Say, 'Indeed, I have been commanded to worship Allāh, [being] sincere to Him in religion. And I have been commanded to be the first [among you] of the Muslims.' Say, 'Indeed, I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day.' Say, 'Allāh [alone] do I worship, sincere to Him in my religion. So worship what you will besides Him.'" And every messenger among the messengers began his call by inviting to the worship of Allāh, as in the words of Noah and those after him in Sūrah al-Shuʿarāʾ and others (Sūrah al-Aʿrāf, 59): "Worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him."
