his weakness, so the wording of his narration is closer to the meaning of al-Masʿūdī's wording than that of his follower al-Dalānī in the narration of al-Raqāshī. In summary, the correct isnād of the ḥadīth is that it is from the Musnad of Ibn Masʿūd, as agreed upon by all, contrary to Abū Khālid al-Dalānī. In its text, it follows the wording of al-Masʿūdī, as we mentioned, contrary to al-Raqāshī. And Allāh knows best. Then I found another follower for al-Masʿūdī. Al-Baghawī said in the ḥadīth of ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd (Q 97/1): "Abū al-Rabīʿ al-Zahrānī narrated to us, Abū Wakīʿ al-Jarrāḥ ibn Malīḥ narrated to us from Qays ibn Muslim with the same isnād and text." This isnād is good; its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim, and Abū Wakīʿ has slight weakness in his memory. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said about him: "Truthful but makes mistakes." It was also narrated from the path of Qays from Qays ibn Muslim as a mursal, not mentioning Ibn Masʿūd, and it included that addition with the wording: "It is a cure for every disease." Qays is Ibn al-Rabīʿ al-Asadī, and he is also weak due to his poor memory. Then it was narrated from the path of Ḥajjāj ibn Naṣīr, who said: "Shuʿbah narrated to us from al-Rabīʿ ibn al-Rukayn ibn al-Rabīʿ from Qays ibn Muslim, similar to the narration of al-Raqāshī in isnād and text." Ḥajjāj ibn Naṣīr is weak.
