I said: And this isnād is also authentic. Al-Mundhirī said in "al-Targhīb" (3/163): "And Abū Yaʿlá narrated it with a good isnād from him, and it is a narration for al-Tirmidhī." I said: It is not with al-Tirmidhī in this wording, so be informed. Then he said: "In some copies of Abū Dāwūd, it is ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr." And al-Bukhārī recorded it in "al-Tārīkh" from the narration of ʿAbbās ibn Jalīd from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ. And also from his narration from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar. Al-Tirmidhī said: Some narrated this ḥadīth with this isnād and said: from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr. Amīr Abū Naṣr mentioned that ʿAbbās ibn Jalīd narrates from both of them as al-Bukhārī mentioned, but neither Ibn Yūnus in "Tārīkh Miṣr" nor Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned his narration from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ. And Allāh knows best." I said: The narration of Saʿīd ibn Abī Ayyūb mentioned earlier explicitly states that it is ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb, and Saʿīd is a reliable and trustworthy narrator. Thus, his narration is the one relied upon. And Allāh knows best.
