the boy, the two palm trees, and the matter of the camel, except that he said - "and he mentioned it. I said: And this isnād is authentic; its men are trustworthy, the men of al-Bukhārī except for Aswad ibn ʿĀmir, who is among the individuals of Muslim. Then I reconsidered and said: It is disconnected as will be mentioned. Al-Ḥākim also narrated it (2/617-618) through the route of Yūnus ibn Bukayr from al-Aʿmash from al-Minhāl ibn ʿAmr from Yaʿlá ibn Murrah from his father who said: "I traveled with the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and saw something wondrous from him. We stopped at a place, and he said: Go to those two trees and say: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) commands you to come together. So I went and said that to them, and each one uprooted itself and moved to the other, and they met together. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) relieved himself behind them, then said: Go and tell them to return each to its place. I went to them and said that, and each returned to its place. A woman came to him and said: My son has been afflicted with madness for seven years, and it seizes him twice every day. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: Bring him closer. So she brought him closer, and he spat in his mouth and said: Get out, enemy of Allāh, I am the Messenger of Allāh. Then he said to her: When we return, inform us of what has happened. When the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) returned, she met him with two rams, dried yogurt, and clarified butter. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to me: Take this ram and make from it what you wish. She said: By the One who honored you, we have seen nothing [wrong] with him since you left us. Then a camel came to him and stood before him, and he saw its eyes weeping. He sent for its owners and said: Why does this camel complain about you? They said: We used to work it, but when it grew old and its work was gone, we decided to slaughter it tomorrow. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: Do not slaughter it; let it be among the camels. Al-Ḥākim said: "The isnād is authentic."
