(raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu): "that some people came to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and said: 'We travel far into the sea, and we only carry a small amount of water, just a jug or two, because we cannot find game until we are far out. Can we perform ablution with sea water?' He said: 'Yes, for its dead animals are permissible, and its water is purifying.'" From the fiqh of the ḥadīth: An important benefit from the ḥadīth is the permissibility of consuming anything that dies in the sea, as long as it lived there, even if it is floating on the water. How excellent is what is narrated from Ibn ʿUmar when he was asked: 'Should I eat what is floating on the water?' He said: 'Its floating is its dead, and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: Its water is purifying, and its dead is permissible.' Narrated by al-Dāraquṭnī (538). And the ḥadīth prohibiting the consumption of what floats on the water is not authentic, as clarified elsewhere.

"The Hour will not be established until they engage in intercourse in the streets like donkeys." I said: "Will that really happen?" He said: "Yes, it will certainly happen." Narrated by al-Bazzār in "his Musnad" (p. 238 - Maktab image): Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥīm narrated to us, ʿAffān narrated to us, and Ibn Ḥibbān in "his Ṣaḥīḥ" (1889 - Mawārid): Aḥmad ibn ʿAlī ibn al-Muthanná informed us, Ibrāhīm ibn Ḥajjāj al-Sāmī narrated to us, they both said: ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Ziyād narrated to us: ʿUthmān ibn Ḥakīm narrated to us, Abū Umāmah ibn Sahl ibn Ḥunayf narrated to us from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. Al-Bazzār said: "We do not know it from any authentic source except this one."
