from Ghālib, from Abū Umāmah, from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), who said: and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is good; all its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim, except for Abū Ghālib, who is a companion of Abū Umāmah, and he is considered good in ḥadīth. In "Taqrīb": "Truthful but makes mistakes." Al-Mundhirī said in "al-Targhīb" (3/144): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr' and its men are trustworthy." Al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (5/235): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr' and 'al-Awsaṭ', and the men of 'al-Kabīr' are trustworthy." This implies that the isnād of 'al-Awsaṭ' is not the same, for it is with him (1/197/2) from the route of al-ʿAlāʾ ibn Sulaymān, from al-Khalīl ibn Murrah, from Abū Ghālib, and he said: "No one narrated from al-Khalīl except al-ʿAlāʾ." I said: Both of them are weak. The ḥadīth was also extracted by Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim in "al-Sunnah" (4/1) and Ibn Samʿūn al-Wāʿiẓ in "al-Majlis al-Khāmis ʿAshar" (53-54) from the route of Mūsá ibn Khalaf al-ʿAmī, who narrated to us from al-Muʿallá ibn Ziyād, from Muʿāwiyah ibn Qurrah, from Maʿqil ibn Yasār, raised. Its men are trustworthy, except that this al-ʿAmī is truthful but has errors, as in "Taqrīb", so I fear he may have erred in his isnād to al-Muʿallá. However, Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim also narrated it from the route of Ibn al-Mubārak, who told me from Manīʿ, who told me from Muʿāwiyah ibn Qurrah. However, I did not recognize this Manīʿ. And Allāh knows best.
